UPE 6077 Introduction to Organized Crime, State Fragility, and Peacebuilding
Academic Year 2022-2023
This seminar is dedicated to introducing the concept of transnational organized crime and to what extent it implies for a broad comprehension of the definition of state fragility and peacebuilding. Since peacebuilding evolves a more nuanced aspect of positive peace and the establishment of social justice and social cohesion, this seminar problematizes peacebuilding through a discussion on the challenges imposed by transnational organized crime for the promotion of peace and development in the world, which has a negative impact on the capacity of the State to counter this global threat.
