- Leading on with our cultural immersion and exchange with the lands and clan peoples of the Bri Bri-Cabecar in Talamanca, we consider the cultural source, embodiment and continuation of the tangible and intangible knowledge systems of Indigenous Science; intergenerational earth wisdoms of remembering, knowing, being and doing. This course considers the emerging fields of Archaeoacoustics and Archaeoastronomy, which consider the connections of culture to earth and sky, through the embodied lens of Indigenous Science. We explore the possibilities of interface between western and indigenous ways to restore the conditions of Earth, sacred sites and addressing the threats of climate change, and preserving knowledge systems and meaningful egalitarian knowledge exchange in the peacebuilding process. Through these topics, our focus becomes the relationship of story, song and prayer within our cultural remembering and embodiment as ISPS research-practitioners.
